The recycling processes are chemical or industrial processes to convert waste materials in new ones, but often the converted materials have lower grade quality or structural weakness.
Upcycling is the opposite of the recycling process, because its aim is to prevent wasting potentially useful materials and existing items. This may reduce the consumption of new raw materials, may reduce the consumption of energy, air pollution, water pollution and even greenhouse gas emissions.

Before buying something new, consider what we already have that can be upcycled to meet our needs. Before throwing items into the trash bin, consider possible other uses.
